Mamba Wars

Post by BitesBack on Tue Jun 18, 2013 7:55 pm

Okay so am thinking we can try and setup some squad based fights pick time and server and all use the mamba as its 1 ship we all have. we can run 1v1 and teams as we agree in chat b4 the match who is fighting and the rest video or just enjoy the show.as most of us have fully upgraded F-3s it will be good show of skill maybe have loki or any admin post a league table.Evan a tournament weekly so anyway let me know guys if you think its workable.

I like the idea Smile
Pick some times we'll run it as whoever can show up; we're pretty scattered across the time zones around here.

i was thinking to puting it in both meetup and the main community hub as atm the most popular post is "This game SUCKS" and that will be driving away players all the time.

im definitively in, here are some gadgets to help you with the time issues:

world time converter http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html
cities over the world time http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/

as you can see from the second link, the difference between London and fe D.C. is -5 hours (so when in London is 8 pm, in D.C. is 3pm).

a quick tab:
LA -8 hrs
 D.C. -5 hrs
Moscow +3 hrs
Sydney +11 hrs

There is one issue that may spoil the whole awesome idea: the missile n00bs who can't read the rules. If somebody comes to MAMBA RAGE!!!™ round with an A80 or X99, it would spoil all the fun. Most of the pilots listen when they are told to take Mamba, but there are also some pricks with severe attitude problems who don't listen and massacre the F-3's with missiles. Mad If somebody could solve that problem, then I'm in. Otherwise, it may end up with something similar as our previous MAMBA RAGE!!!™ rounds have failed... Crying or Very sad

yes starbuck it will have the odd player in who has no idea whats going on but we will work around them as best we can.Such as the ppl not currently in the fight jumping in heavy's and making a ring of steel for f-3 fighters. we try small 1v1 & 2v2 as the squads will get mixed in log in so big squad fights are out the until Uber pull there finger out and put new updates. So this is all the more reason to get stuff like this going if we can bring in enough new paying players Uber may come back to add new content. We all know the game needs more to it.

First of all thats a good idea but secondly "This game SUCKS" is NOT a thread in my group
Secondly I had to delete your thread as it is a place for newbies to come and get help and meetup times. If i let people come on and start recruiting for there clan it would put a lot of people off.

That and obviously reapers would win that one because i would naturally have a bit of a bias.

Hope you understand

EDIT: please disregard the first part of the, i realised he was talking about the community hub

we all need to be more active on community page as it is what new players see 1st. All the bad stuff most seen atm if we on this forum like the positive posts more players will join the game.

I read the arguments on having @$$hats spoil the fun in a Mamba match by using an A80 or something like that.

Might I make a suggestion? What if each side has 2-3 players floating around in higher level ships just to take these guys out? Of course, said protectors will be prohibited from joining the Mamba melee. There could be a rule that any people going out in these higher level ships will need to declare their intentions through the chat. If they don't say something like 'Hey. I'm gonna stop any attempts to spoil your fun' they should either stay away from the Mamba furball, or the people that do declare themselves as defenders will be be targeting them and making their life hell until they get the hint.

Whaddaya think?

It's something that we could rotate through if everyone agrees.  Whenever you want a turn, let everyone know, wait until a new defender rotates in from dueling, then take a trip through the enemy carrier.

in eve online, their "police" was called concord. it is so ridiculously overpowered that being killed by them was referred to "being concorded". if you haven't seen this in action, i can only describe it as the army sending aircraft carriers, scrambling planes too, to swat a fly that landed on my sandwich.

how about taking a 'concord' stance?
players in mamba can attack only other mambas.
player in something else is a defender/enforcer by default.
attacking a defender/enforcer with clear intent will give all defenders right of retaliation.

[D.o.W]P3jota wrote:Could u explain in further detail how this concord works?
as described, it was a police force of sorts. whenever players did something to offend concord (PvP in a non-PvP area for example), concord space ships would warp in. depending on the solar system's security status, there would be a delay and the number of ships arriving would be less. in max security (1.0) solar systems, you would get an entire fleet dropped on you almost instantly (under 2 seconds), with officer-grade tech (electronic warfare had infinite range on concord police ships), they'd lock you down so you can't do anything and instantly kill you before you even knew what happened.

moral is "don't attack concord ships". same idea here, enforcers would engage anyone breaking rules or attacking enforcers Very Happy

Another situation that might come up would be if a defender/enforcer tries to attack one of the Mamba's.

My suggestion to counter this would be to put the Mamba match on hold, then both sides could mutually agree that the aggressor should be taken out. This could consist of the aggressor's opposing team working together to attack him, while his allies could sit back and watch.

Might that work?
