Re: *removed*
I would like to state that while development has stopped, it has not necessarily stopped permanently and that the game still belongs to Uber (as publisher) even though IMBA is effectively defunct. Uber has said that they would like to continue development in the future if possible.

As I Said, Until That Happens, I Will Be Working.

I would do a little research on the ramafications of what you are about to do first. Someone else owns this property, they may not be too happy with you fooling around with it. It sounds like a good way to end up getting sued.

You're Right. But I'm Not Doing This For Money. Just Love Of The Game. And Besides, The Minecraftians Get Away With This All The Time.
Re: *removed*
Lack of prosecution with another game & developer/publisher does not equal permission for this one.
Proceed at your own risk.

Re: *removed*
it has been brought up before, and ive even considered doing so myself...
in the end i concluded it would not be worth the risks, because in this way you're only confirming that the game is easily modified by any user. it would take one person to inspect the mod contents to figure out how it works very very quickly, and from there they would realize that not all the settings on every user in a game have to match up.
in doing so you would only be inviting people to modify the game themselves. plus for those not using the mod, they will likely be at a disadvantage because this mod is client side by nature, a game hack by definition... it would only be fair vs others using the same mod, and there is no way you could enforce it so those with a modded version only play against others who also have a modded version...
not worth it and it will not work, imo.

UPDATE: the mod can be found here: <link removed>
It is by no means complete. Feel free to leave a comment if you want me to add something.

Re: *removed*
bad idea...
anyone i find playing on a modded version, i will make adjustments of my own and hunt you down.
edit - because it isnt fair to those who are not, and they will leave the game or worse start rumors of cheating (which it is).

Re: *removed*
Umm... Yeah. I guess. I once found myself up agains a modder. But his entire intention was kill, destroy, swag. Mine is just to balance ships out. And make some of the higher class ships worth all that money you payed. Like the X99. I bought that one with cred.

The develpoers worked really hard to balance the ships out the way they are. You want to enhance the X99? I'll admit it's not easy mode like with a FH-250 or the an A-80, but if you understand how to dog fight, it is the best ship out there. Why do you think the first generation of super aces used it! Your intention may not be to rip people apart with outrageous mods, but you are giving out the tools to do just that. I'm against you changing the game, but I can't stop you. I just ask that you play test the crap out of the stuff you are modding before you start handing it out. If you score more kills with something new then you do with a premium ride then it is too powerful. This game could be ruined very quikly if you start handing out OP crap. Please be conservative.

Re: *removed*
At the beginning the X99 was the best ship. But later they enhanced the G5. Now the G5 is the best ship. But I hate it because of its look and its sound.

IKR. Some G5 pilots are UNSTOPABLE.

Probably not, considering that Loki shut down his mod link and request that he no longer link such things. Also he has been out for almost a month so I wouldn't expect too much.

Not really. I mean, I'm still tweaking here-and-there, but I Avnet really gotten the time to do much. But an older version of my tweaks is still up. It's a bit hard to find though.

Loki did what now??? I haven't gotten any notices. Eh. You mean he shut down this discussion? Because LBR is still up.
Re: *removed*
IMBA made us their official player site and encouraged us to send players here for advice, help, and community; until I hear otherwise from IMBA/Uber, that's what this site is and I can't support any unofficial modifications. To this end, I removed the link you posted, shortly after you posted it (which was months ago).

He started this topic and is able to edit a number of things to do with it.
I am interpreting this as a sign that he is no longer working on a modding the game.

Talking about mods reminds me of the good old days Loki. Its a shame the remake project didnt go anywhere when everyone lacked availablility.

not that you could (legally, fairly and practically) to begin with, as people pointed out early on
