Is anybody still on the forums?
Used to play a while back, and visit it once in a while. Is anybody still alive out there?

I visit the forums every so often for the sole reason of having it bookmarked. As to the actual playing, not so much.

Same, pretty much. Anybody else out there? It would be good to see more than two people on the forums still.

I still randomly visit. MB Servers are officially coming down Sept 5th, 2017.

Haven't played for ages. Pity it wasn't supported. It was the most enjoyable game around. Too bad it's closing down for good.

Damn. This forum, so full of memories. I visit this place like once a year. I didn't know they were completely taking down all servers back in September. That's unfortunate, I'd still occasionally go on with 1 other person and we'd play sometimes. (Rarely though.) It really is too bad they deserted this game. We had one of the best communities I've seen in online games.

OMG! This forum is still visited! I get notifications once or twice a year and come by for a visit. I do miss the sweat of Mamba-only rounds!

Good memories, miss this game, surprised to even remember some names.
Any chance of getting the devs to open source the code under a non-commercial license?

The-Anger and Thuufir both tried to re-create a game on other engines. But this didn't worked out, unfortunately.

Re: Is anybody still on the forums?
Wow, there are still people visiting. I had fogotten all about this game really. Is it still playable?
Anywho, I read other suggesting Elite Dangerous as an alternative, and I do see the point somewhat, however I believe that part of the beauty of MB, was its simplicity - you could log in and play a few matches easily, without having to invest a lot of time, and the game is pretty easy to pick up as well. Actually, it reminds me somewhat of Rocket League in that regard, easy to pick up, difficult to master, and you can quickly log in and enjoy a game, without committing a lot of time (e.g. if you run a busy schedule).
If someone can and would contact the game devs to get the rights to develop on the game, I would support that action! (as much as I can)

Yeah, that was the beauty of the game... for all those of us who could spare just a couple of hours playing after work or family matters. Some clans tried to switch to other games, like StarCitizen or Elite... but these are not MB, right?
The latter part depends on the investor. We don't have Chris Roberts to start a fundraising campaign to begin with

Haha holy shite this is a blast from the past.
I got an email notification and was kind of baffled as the game had died long ago. It's pretty cool there are some people still here.

Re: Is anybody still on the forums?
Hehe, yeah I also just got an e-mail and thought: "Moonbreakers.. wasn't that the awesome semi-fast-paced-space-shooter-flight-multiplayer-battle-arena game that I used to love so much?... Is that still alive?! Better go check it out!".
And you're right, we don't have the same means, but is that really required? If, as someone already suggested, it becomes open source, all we need is some programmers and artists with a bit of spare time and love to spare for the game, and we could have it up and running again in close to no time
Can anyone or does anyone know how to get in touch with the developer?

Re: Is anybody still on the forums?
Leading a development project is not that simple) But you're probably right - the desire it the main thing.
I guess getting a couple of devs busy is not a big deal. The thing The-Anger faced was of lack of 3d-modellers, AFAIK. There is his source code available in the Terra Zero thread in General Discussion section. Someone might pick it up where it stopped.

Wow, random email is random. Howdy folks. Everest, anger is still working on it, progress is just slow. He updates a channel on the DMH discord with stuff occasionally. Bunch of us old hands are still hanging around there, just playing a bunch of different games.

Glad to know Anger's project is moving on. It seems I lost track of it. Can you give us a link to his channel?

Re: Is anybody still on the forums?
That is pretty cool, but what The-Anger is working on is an entire engine, right? Has he started working on a re-make of the original game then? And why make an entire engine, when there are engines such as Unreal or Unity free to use?
I don't have much time myself these days, as I'm finishing up my master thesis, but if anyone is interested, or if The-Anger is already working on it, I would not mind finding and giving some time to organize and manage a development project. My programming skills however are a bit rusty, as I haven't used them for some years now, but I know my way around game design and project management in regard to game development.
So what is the status right now?

Swarve suggests you pilots stop dilly dallying. Quit cowering behind your favourite moustaches in the sanitization sector of some back space cargo hauler and take to the skies in your trusty fighters, ending all enemy scum with maximum and immediate PEW PEW BANG!
Good to see others are still mourning 'the breakers'. Hope you all are well!
Swarve is currently Ace Piloting in Star Wars BF2 on PS4 and shooting hapless noobs in Fortnite with all the other 8 year Olds.
Take it easy!
