Suggestions on my next ship Empty Suggestions on my next ship

Post by Nutz Thu Aug 23, 2012 4:48 pm

I'm currently back up to a mil cred. and I wanted to get some suggestions on my next ship before I make the purchase. My gut tells me I need a Merlin due to my style of dogfighting. Currently my ships are:
F-3 and Rhino (of course)
G-5
FH-100
FH-200

I've narrowed down to:
FH250 (very similar the FH200 in my mind)
Merlin
Viper

I have no issues at all in CTF, Really no issues in CA. Where I notice my issues is S&D (personally of my mamba had the rocket fire rate of a g5 I would not want anything else).
I'm just looking for some input and maybe from those who play me often and know my style. Thanks for any input.

I'd recommend the Timberwolf or Merlin. Those will play & fly very differently from what you've currently got without being so different that you can't shoot anything (beam ships will do this).

If you're looking to buff your S&D, the Merlin will let you dive into the thickest fights and let you come out the other side trailing smoke and a bounty. (they're free to fly this week, so now's a good time to try one out, even if it's a little squishy unupgraded) It's not as efficient on afterburner as the Piranha, but it's got finely balanced controls; it goes exactly where you want it to once you get used to it, even if it's a touch slow.

I discovered I actually like bombing the carrier when I got a Timberwolf. It's FAST! You can evade defenders for minutes instead of seconds.

Well, as you know you pushed me over the edge, and the cred was burning a hole in my pocket. I was pretty much already sold on the Merlin. We'll see what happens after it's fully upgraded.

Now I have a ship for every occasion.

If you've earned a million creds, you deserve a ship like that Smile

Only the Cobra has better handling.
