Moon Breakers Theme

Post by jazzycat on Fri Jun 08, 2012 3:15 pm

Anyone know anything more about the Moon Breakers theme? Can't find credits anywhere, or maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places. I really like the 'battle' music; reminds me of the music from MACROSS PLUS that'd play during the dog-fights.

You probably won't find the actual OST on iTunes... Ever. Crying or Very sad
But will find Bear McCreary stuff there. Battlestar Galactica OST for example. cheers

I listen to dubstep while I fly. (I'm sure those on Vent are WELL aware...yes, that's what's in the background when I speak). It's taken me a good while to turn Skrillex radio on Pandora into an actually listen-able station (there's some seriously horrible dubstep out there). So far I've found Wolfgang Gartner and Pendulum do a great job theme-tracking my flying. And the tempo keeps me 'on the bounce' so-to-speak.

Nothing like coming down from 1000m above an unsuspecting target to deliver their annihilation while Unison by Porter Robinson is blasting in the cockpit.

All right Praetorians, STOOP AND STING!

Hey... Y'know how you mentioned looking up Bear McCreary / Battlestar Galactica for more music that sounds similar to Moon Breakers' theme?

After re-reading the game's description on the Steam Store page, it turns out that Moon Breakers is "a modern multi-player take on the classic space combat genre of the 1990's, ... with a bold, retro-futuristic art style, and amazing music by Bear McCreary (Battlestar Galactica, The Walking Dead)..."

lol!

I hear a bit of ID4 influence

Some of the main theme reminds me of the LA battle scene in "Independence Day"...that, or I need to quit having so much coffee and e-cigarette when I fly...

I turn the game music off and avoid other music since it interferes with hearing people sneaking up on me...

I thought it'd be pretty cool to put Walkure over a video, but somebody already did it...

This song has the perfect tempo at 140bpm (2.333Hz) with which to regulate your afterburners in either a Sidewinder or a Viper:

This one at 160bpm (2.667Hz) is useful for a Merlin:

Ferc Polo is a bit thrown by all these rainbows. In my day combat was all blood and explosions...now you got yer newfangled 'Rainbowtec' Armaments and what with all the whizzbangin' and las-thumping...

Buncha whiny ...rasna--frakkin--las-head---Ferc Polo's angry muttering follows him out of the mess hall and down the corridor toward the lifts.

Jiel is serious...

Oh so serious.

I tend to go with more mood influence musical inspiration usually between 80's hair Metal, Punk, or Death metal.

though my favorite dog fighting theme song is "Knee deep in the shit" by Devil Driver hit the link for lyrics and you'll see why.

that said I'm not averse to MLP:FiM music if i'm having a good day.
