Holy mother of gaming (Star Citizen)

Post by Zhaky on Thu Oct 11, 2012 2:27 pm

I was just gonna install Freelancer today, and while waiting for the installation, I roamed the internet for some Freelancer material/community. I found a community and on the frontpage was a video with some odd looking man on. Now I have heard his name mentioned before, but never seen a picture of him. Well I played the video, and it turned out to be a promotional video for a new game developed by the odd looking man "Chris Roberts", the same man who developed games like, Wing Commands, Freelancer, Starlancer and basically the majority of popular space-simulation games.

Before I found this I've read a few posts here on the forum, which seemed to asked for a game like this. I know it's not finished yet, and the idea is indeed crazy, but can't a space pilot hope? I believe so, which is why I'm posting the link to the official page here. Go take a quick look and let me know what you think? I sure as **** am hopefull, excited and amazed.

So... What do you think?

Sounds like a plan Loki Very Happy

My computer isn't up for it either, but then again there's no release date, at least not one I can find, so there's still time to prepare Very Happy

I just ain't sure that they can actually make it that's my biggest worry Neutral

I can see a future conversation in 18 year's time...

Daughter: "Dad, how much did it cost to have children?"

Loki: "I don't know, I'm still paying"

I put this in the wrong section (Idiot!!!)

Yeah saw this before - I can't think that they would ramp up the specs too much as they would lose alot of ppl who cant afford to upgrade.
Although that said gaming and sometimes CGI are what keep pushing the boundaries for high spec comps & definitely NOT office work!

Bring it on !

asdfasdfasefasdfasdf apparently this shite is legit

but I don't have money to throw around.

I'll pledge the minimum to get me the free download at the very least, and I'll have 2 years to get myself a laptop that can run this Very Happy

I was about to start a topic about it but thankfully searched first...
I'm looking forward to this game too. I pledged for my share of the Carrier Parking Lot too, though I doubt they will stick to the deadline or the predicted cost... likely way over that...
But I always loved Wing Commander and it hit a soft spot!

Very Happy

It sure did. I feel confident that we can reach the 2.000.000 $ once people get their paycheck. I for an example pledged for 30$ to begin with, but I'm gonna upgrade to at least 60$ most likely 125$ and if economically possible more pirat If others do that as well, plus we some members still haven't pledged and more are joining, it's shouldn't be out of reach.

My nostrils can already smell burnt kilrathi... (Poor cats... ) or grilled Nephilim. Actually, will they bring over any of those as a cameo at least?
Do you think we can ask them for an option to have the interlined videos? It won't be the same without those!

But hey, they're halfway to their goal, I think I should start chatting up random strangers and convince them to pledge... Very Happy
