Thankfully it is pretty rare on Moonbreakers, but occasionally you will see some jerk start running his mouth tearing down other players. Last monday, on the Eoropean server, We started a Search and Destroy mission on the Broadsides map. I selected my G5 and planned on rotating through my fighters as I got shot down. After launch I noticed my team consisted of all F3s, the other team had an A80, a X99, a FH90 and the rest F3s. The player using the A80 started spewing a bunch of crap about the G5, basically stating that it was a stupid fighter and anyone who used it was stupid as well. I decided I would stick with the G5 the whole game and that the A80 would be my primary target. Throughout the match he would hide in his carrier and spew more crap, but in the end he only had 9 kills and one assist. I had 24 kills and 11 assists, I think I shot him down 6 times. In the lobby I asked him what he thought of the G5 now, he just quit. Good riddance, we need fewer players like that.

Personally, I tend to ignore players like that, but I shoot them down whenever I see them. I tell myself they're probably just mad cause they suck.

you did the right thing, people cry about what you fly or use when you are kicking their asses and sadly some of them think they are some kind of psychological mastermind and try to convince you to stop playing that way with insults and calling you names

it is also noticeable that most of them are kool aid drinking teenagers who would grow up and become socialist so if you see them feel free to run them over with a semi truck 12 times in a row at least

Some tips for trolling the trolls...

Trolls feed on attention, so don't give it to them verbally (textually?). Instead, as MJ suggests, make them suffer your wrath.

VS Carrier Lurkers; those players who hide near the carrier so they can easily run inside if you so much as glance at them. Often flying something with Long Range Missiles or torpedoes and are heavily shielded. Meanwhile, they brag about how awesome they are and how crappy you are for dying so much.

Run The Gauntlet. Fly through the enemy hangar and wipe the cowardly troll out.
- Ships capable; anything with rockets, but higher reload rate is preferred (F3X, G5)
- Technique; launch a rocket into the carrier as you approach, aiming for the far end. Hit the afterburner and make a single pass at the troll while launching rockets as necessary to distract the beam turrets and exit the hangar as fast as possible. Repeat as necessary.

The Sharpshooter. Snipe the hiding player while they shiver inside their carrier.
- Ships capable; beamships or cannon ships (beamships or Stingray works best)
- Technique; stay outside of beam turret range and fire inside the hangar to hit the troll as they hide.
- for best results, eliminate the 6 turrets above and below the fore and aft hangar entrances. Bonus points for doing this while the turrets are still there (drifting beamshot FTW).

The Tank. Brave the carrier interior with something heavily armoured to hunt down the troll.
- Ships capable; heavy heavy fighter (Stingray, A80), heavy bomber (Panther, Bison). Can be done in a Merlin due to high maneuverability.
- Technique; fly in and wipe them out while hoping to come out the other side. Best used for short runs through the rear entrance and out the sides (or vice versa).

Unfortunately, there exist some "ace-level" players who are are not above telling others how not-awesome they are. These are more difficult to deal with, as they have the piloting skills to make your life difficult in game as well as the lobby. Best advice I can give is do your best against them and try not to give in to your rage.

i can attest to sharpshooting cowards in their carrier hidey-holes. this. works. spectacularly.

2/5 times they disconnect and don't come back after the second kill that way lol...

i havent found many 'ace-level' trolls tbh. only one comes to mind, and i wouldn't call him an ace by any means, mostly because he doesn't stick it out when losing...

and in general, when you come across a player that is managing to get the better of you (troll or not), don't avoid them... make sure you run into them as often as you can, and knowing that you likely won't win, put your attention to observing how they fly, when they shoot, in short: learn from them from the best vantage point there is (in their face)
