What the Hell are you flying!?

So just curious what people fly regularly.

my definition of that is if you can answer this is what I will pick with out thinking about it please check the box. Pick as many as are appropriate.

My super mamba and a Panther

October 9th, 2012: Super mamba, Kingfisher, and my Timberwolf

My choice depends on the game type and the player roster.

CTF: Cobra or Krait is normal, Viper if the other team is swarming with them. Mamba or Timberwolf sometimes for fun.

CA: Piranha for turrets if I don't recognize a top ace on the other team, otherwise straight to my Timberwolf (or after turrets are gone).

S&D: Mamba or Cobra if I see a lot of Mambas on the list and no top ace. Piranha if I see a lot of familiar names and a good mix of ships (normal). Merlin if there's a few Merlins.

CTF: Krait is default. I'll blast turrets while waiting for my turn at the flag. Switch to Sidewinder if I'm being outrun by the opposition.

CA: Sidewinder for turrets if I don't see decent bombers on the team lists, otherwise jump in the Timberwolf.

S&D: Stingray is a decent starter choice, but I'll upgrade to a Sidewinder or Merlin if competition ramps up.

Seems like my favourite ship has become the Sidewinder.

For my it's petty Typical. I've been trying to switch it up lately, but here is what I default to:

CTF - Viper
CA - Swordfish
SD - Merlin

CTF - Swordfish or T-wolf
CA - Swordfish followed by T-wolf
SD - Merlin or Swordfish, sometimes Mamba

Anyone want to buy my fully upgraded Krait? Only one owner, a few dents & scrapes but all in working order - except I can never get the aiming system to work.

CTF - Krait
S&D - Krait
CA - Krait (and maybe my bison)

My escalation ship for when there are a lot of prestige ships around is the M-10.

Occasionally I will fly the Merlin... But do better with the Krait.

Longshot I will buy it from you if you can figure out how I can fly two at once. Maybe duct tape?

CTF = Swordfish. Fast enough to catch flag stealers and powerful enough to smoke 'em.
CA = Swordfish or Hammerhead. Toss-up here - the Fish is faster and puts out a lot more bullets, but that rapid fire cannon on the Hammer shreds bombers like nobody's business.
S&D = Swordfish mostly, but once in a while I go to the dark side and fly the Mamba, just to have fun sliding at max speed.

I usually fly an F-3X Sidewinder (fully upgraded). Since its maneuverability fits for me, despite its weak shielding and durability. lol I have good kill ratio with it, especially when there are a lot of furballs in a match.

I only use Mamba (also fully upgraded) when I want the firepower and heavier shielding and when I want to do some drift maneuvers. Both of em fit for me.

I also use Heavy Fighters, but only when in Heavy Combat. Whenever the battle has becoming more intense, I switched to my good ol' Hammerhead. Been saving for a Swordfish though lol.

I do sometimes use Bombers, but my favorite at the time is the B-10T Timberwolf. Since it has advanced torpedo which has fast arming. I only use bombers in fitting gametype, which is Carrier Assault.

I usually look at who is flying what and pick something suitable.

If its LF and Rhino, no heavies, I will go Cobra as I really like its handling,
underwhelmed by both systems being linked to the same heat mind you.
I then crank up according to who comes out with what.

In CA I ramp up bombers in accordance with defence or boredom levels LOL.

FH-200 at the moment, though I'll switch back to the F-3 and G5 to stay in practice/for shits'n'giggles/if majority of everyone else is a 1-3 bar or Light/Medium and there're no other noticeable Veterans on server.

I enjoy the Krait. Much satisfaction from long distance fry-ups. Great for turret assault.

The X99 can be a room clearer, so it is saved for a special crowd. My happiest memories are in an X99.

The Mamba stops mid turn leaving you vulnerable and drifts horrifically. Best avoided unless you have the gift... So Marvin opts for the Super Mamba and screams as a stray nuke obliterates it's flimsy shields... time after time after time.

I feel your pain Marvin. Many a time I've been gunning for the likes of Cap't Jack and Mr. X, and all of a sudden my screen goes white and some bomber earns more kills than he is worth.

Is there an "Every Thing" button? I use all classes...

CTF - I'm usually in the Sidewinder or the Viper; and occasionally the Panther.
CA - I run the Swordfish or Piranha to start off on the Turrets, then switch to Panther, Timberwolf or Bison to run my torps.
S&D - I can be found in whatever I think might be fun. I have everything so that might be anything

CTF- Mamba, and I get good runs with it.
CA- Nighthawk, with the upgraded heat sinks it chews up Panthers. The aiming is super tricky so don't be surprised if you hit nothing for a while but once you start hitting it will put a smile on your face and a frown on bomber pilots.
S&D- Barracuda.

Currently collecting dust: Rhino; because I can't punch through carrier defenses with it. Grizzly: because I wanted a tank for broadsides. Too bad the guns have a a horrible spread.
