I study games. During break, I make games. In my free time, I game.
Live in Perth, Australia currently but might move to Sydney.
Moon Breakers is great. It touches, lightly, on many key elements of games like X-Wing and Freespace. It's the kind of the Quake of spaceship games due to its fast-paced, low-consequence action. Look forward to seeing the game grow with its community.
Haven't seen many of you in game, possibly due to regions and times. ( Although, pretty sure longshot was just in Australia region when he linked this forum earlier. )
In-game I specialize in attempting ambushes, then 'escaping' right into an asteroid

Heya Kitro, welcome aboard the 'boards mate!
If you're usually on Aussie server then I've probably flown with/against you!
Saw longshot earlier as well, so that was good seeing a familiar name in air.

Hey kitro, welcome Yep that was me earlier, I'll look out for you in games & say hello. Btw I specialised in that asteroid thing too, a big reason why I rarely fly my Mamba despite it being fully upgraded. Speaking of the Aussie server, that Mantarok bloke sure knows a thing or two about flying...

He certainly does, he quickly became my favourite target. In one of the following matches i was more impressed by his flag stealing than his dog-fighting !

Mantarok is freakin' deadly. While he does favor the V66, when he's swapped out to a different ship the skill is still there. He plays to the mission objective, not sure on wingmanship. Seems to keep to himself for the most part, lol. But yeah, US-East Coasters, if you ever swing by Aussie server and you're in the same game as Kitro, longshot and Mantarok you know you're in for a good match, lol. Slash and Marvin Swarve aren't too bad either...

Last time I was on a global kick the Aussie server was the only empty one. I was kinda sad since they usually take CTF to a level us Americans just don't understand.

Welcome, kitro! I'll have to check out the other servers; I've been a bit of a homebody with servers. If you want to scratch 'Bif' into your killcount, you can find me on the US East server a couple hours a day.

He's Complex-Lainish with a bomber on Carrier Assault, though his tactics are different (he doesn't fly through the middle of the carrier like Lain does, but is very hard to kill nonetheless)

Definitely get into the habit of server hopping guys, especially if your home-servers' skilled pilots aren't in-game. The fierce joy (and panic!) you get when you dogfight it out with names you know who just. won't. die. or you know are gunning for you is hella fun. Definitely raises the A-game.
I don't think games on the Aussie server get veto'd as frequently as they do US-side. The best CTF I've been in was one on Aussie-prime-time and the two flags were dead-in-the-air mid-field, first time I'd seen that happen, it was a fun fierce fight. Pretty sure it one side was 1-up but everyone still fought like mad to the end. Make 'em earn it.
How so? Do you mean we actually play it properly?Ferc Polo wrote:I was kinda sad since they usually take CTF to a level us Americans just don't understand

US East and West, with the exception of a few players, rolls mostly FH planes for CTF and just dogfight in the center. Aussies go for the flag like it's going out of style. I have NEVER on US servers seen a bomber escorted to the flag like I did on an Aussie server. An FH-200 and a Cobra escorting a Timberwolf warms my heart.

Hey, welcome aboard.
I'm endlessly amused to hear how many people have reiterated my first sentiments about the similarites to tie-fighter/ X-wing. hope you stick around.

I'm wishing I had seen those games... I haven't played a decent space fighter since Wing Commander

I might have to dig up my old discs now...Thanks Jazzy; you've consigned me to another 130 hrs of agonizing happiness...
