Thanks I have made a personal goal to be good enough, so some squadron will Want me to join instead of me trying on my own to get there

Welcome Corny.Of course it's great to become a pilot that everyone wants in their squad but the main thing is that you have fun and enjoy yourself.
I heard a rumour that they're still issuing parachutes as standard kit for new pilots...they serve no purpose other than to resemble a drunk jellyfish trying to get home from the pub.Put it on ebay

I never use parachutes, that would imply the possibility of failure And if i should die i would be crazy to deny myself some glorious death
