Thanks for taking the time to put up this forum!

I picked up MB when it hit Steam, so I am a n00b. Normally, I am not a fan of Deathmatching, but being able to get my Starfighter Combat Fix in pretty much over-rode that hesitation. I was a huge XvT, Wing Commander player, back in the day. I know, some day, the MB community is going to be big enough that it'll attract the more unpleasant parts of the Intertrons, but right now the community has been nothing but welcoming, warm, and helpful.

Welcome aboard Slipstream, I'm also a Steam-newb and avid fan of the WC/XW/TF starfighter sims. Also liked that movie, The Last Starfighter heaps back in the day and now I've gone and shown my age, haha!

Glad to see you've become an active member of the community! Any ideas, thoughts, suggestions, even disagreements if put forward politely (like a sir!) are welcome and encouraged

Seriously though... the average age of the veteran and regular players seems to be early 30s or older... or is it just the coincidence that that's about how old all the gamers who grew up playing WC/XW/TF/etc are now?

It's really not. The game shares a lot in common with those old games.

A fully upgraded FH-22 Zimmerframe thankyou. Speed is 35, acceleration 10, boosters 50, shields 200 and let's not forget the turning speed - 0.5.
