Re: Fast FM-25?
Anger has a Nighthawk. US West is probably the best server to duke it out on.

I really do want to battle against Anger. Why do you think I challenged him?

Why don't we try to meet up and have a contest on who's better with beams? I figure, that in order to make it more fair, we should try to be on the same team. That way, we'll have the same players to shoot at, rather than the contest coming down to whoever has more noobs on their team.
We could also find an empty server and just shoot at each other... Though it would probably be skewed by the fact that the Nighthawk is the ONLY beamer that I have, which would make it tough for your Krait.
Unless you also have the Nighthawk...?
i have all the ships fully upgraded and i know how to use them well. all of them.
what got me is the supposition that it would be tough for a krait to take down a nighthawk... let me rephrase it: if you can't take out my krait with your nighthawk, it isn't worth having a nighthawk duel
not saying you can't, but i am saying i have taken out my share of nighthawks with kraits...

anger is real good. I fought against him, and he obliterated me more than 2 times. Then again, I always prefer a tough fight.

You want a tough fight? Imagine a 2-on-1, with me and anger against you. Only THEN do you have a tough fight...
Re: Fast FM-25?
Oh god, that would be HARD! But still fun. I enjoy playing with you pilots.

hard is not the word - impossible.
ive flown with another nighthawk pilot once before on the same team. slipups aside we were untouchable.

Re: Fast FM-25?
Hmm... Do you think that flying with me would be as good?
Just to tell you, though I can't use vent...

Re: Fast FM-25?
dont know... will have to try and see...
so long as we have a similar method to prioritizing targets, should work out well.
the biggest nuisance with nighthawk wings is having too much firepower - it is easy to misjudge when your ally needs more firepower and critically, when they don't. once that hurdle is leaped it should be smooth sailing...

How do you prioritize?
In descending order order, I prioritize Light Fighters, Mediums, Heavies, Bombers, flag cap, and turrets...
If you do anything like that Anger, it should work...
Re: Fast FM-25?
i don't tend to prioritize on ship class all that much... for me it is whatever poses the greatest threat, or presents the best opportunity to take down.
eg, when flying solo with NH and up against two or more opponents, i will tend to target whomever (from my POV) seems to be putting out the most dps (actual damage; factors like accuracy, attack patterns & which ship and so on). if this person happens to be too risky to aim for because of other players (like some else approaching your tail), ill pick the next most immediate threat and hunt them. often that will be someone unfortunate that happens to fly into my view as im chasing my target at range...
so in a nutshell, same as for you with pilots who are skillful in what they fly, and reversed with pilots who are not.

Re: Fast FM-25?
Agreed Anger; target priority is whoever is the biggest threat to completion of objectives, then proceed with objectives. This is often a trial/error learning process, at least for the first encounter with a strong player.
If a strong defender is present for CTF or Carrier Assault, take them out and proceed. If your goal is defense, every enemy needs to be eliminated, though the strong player should still be high on your list; they are the typically the most disruptive to your activities.
I will often avoid taking the first flag to eliminate defenders and turrets so that other player's chances improve; no need to run the flag 10 times by yourself if you can provide a rookie the opportunity to run it at least partway.
If a strong player is present in S&D, take them out, then dominate the field. Even if you go down doing it, your teammates will have an easier time vs the others for a bit.
Otherwise, it's targets of opportunity.

Re: Fast FM-25?
the only flaw in this approach is the rapidity with which you might switch targets in some situations. i should point out that in those cases i try to avoid switching and attempt to commit to a kill or two...
with the nighthawk particularly you need to have a good sense for when to fire and when not to fire, because when you do, you're very vulnerable. stealing from manga a bit, "you're at your most vulnerable when you use your best techniques".
