Warframe
A lot of people have asked me if we can talk about Warframe, so I figured I should make a thread. Lets please keep it to one thread, though if you've already got one in your squad section, I don't mind.
If you've got a Warframe name, preferred build, tactic, or just want to chat about it, post it here.

may as well...

Favorites: Trinity & Nyx
playing for a little over a month now, just leveling stuff up to see how overpowered it can be...
having a lot of fun with nyx (mind control abilities) and trinity (healing / support abilities) frames.
trinity is the only frame leveled to max, and as such it saves the rear ends of teammates time and time again with its 'heal everyone' panic button. other than that, trinity is probably the best to solo bosses without kiting - with 25% power efficiency mod loaded on it, two of its abilities can be used together to make you invulnerable so long as you have something like a boss with a large enough HP pool. the two abilities are link (all damage & effects on you goes instead to the selected target for a time) and energy vampire (when you mark a target, anyone damaging it for the duration will restore up to 100 energy for themselves).
combine both abilities onto a single target, and for any damage you take, you recover energy while damaging your target further, only to repeat the process using the energy recovered
with a high DPS weapon like fangs (multi-hit stiletto knives, fastest rate of fire of melee weapons), can literally just chain-cast these two abilities with 10-13 seconds of high damage from melee. funny every time...
most of my other frames are low level, many barely past level 10. ember is great if you absolutely must burn everything to the ground... the excalibur prime frame is a founders bonus, and tbh is worse than the stock excalibur on a minor technicality otherwise looks better.
ash can teleport about and throw shurikens... saryn has poison attacks - one ability poisons your melee weapon adding a nice amount of poison damage, which when combined with fangs, hehe.... 75 bonus dmg per hit if you're wondering, @ 10 hits per second; another ability attaches a poison-damaging spore to an enemy, that when shot bursts into more spores...
volt can run needlessly fast and has nice offensive damage but doesn't seem to have anything special going for it. same goes for mag, where the abilities are useful against bosses or just tactically, with one super aoe attack used in 90% of other situations.
nyx's mind control is a hoot and a holler when it works, as a lot of the time enemies stand there dumbfounded, trying to take cover out in the open before retaliating... but when it does work, you can recruit some enemies to funny results... like the grineer seekers (they throw seeking rolling mines that latch and explode; when under mind control, they throw mines friendly to you, and they stay friendly, even attacking their owner after the mind control wears off )... the frame does have an 'attack' which does 'ok' damage to as many targets as you throw it at (which dulls the damage; think FF3/FF4 bombs in that regard)... but more enjoyable are the other two abilities - chaos and absorb. chaos is like mind control in an area of effect form, but it doesn't convert them, merely cause 'chaos'. everyone starts shooting everyone, more or less. very handy. absorb is stupidly OP by the description, but alas my nyx frame isn't there yet to make use of it effectively. the ability puts you in a meditative state for a few seconds, during which time ALL damage you take is absorbed; when the ability ends, the damage absorbed is dealt in an AOE. it is worth mentioning that what makes it OP is that friendly fire can be used to charge up the power artificially to stupid proportions
fun game, but it is PvE only, and up to 4 player co-op only.

Now lvl 9 frame w/ all frame mods active + a couple extras to boost my low health & shields. Figuring out the mod upgrade system was interesting and I only burned 2 fusion mods and a crappy non-Loki mod to figure it out. Burston Rifle is pretty badass with some crit upgrade mods. Now saving up for a better melee weapon...
Re: Warframe
I think its a good thing having a thread here for other games that forum regulars are playing. One of the things I loved the most about MB was/is the community, which is way more civil, intelligent and funny than the vast majority of MMO games out there (I'm comparing it with the War Thunder forum which is full of clueless noobs, trolls and veterans who act like arrogant dicks), so even if some of us have moved on from MB it's good to keep this place as a venue to chat & keep in touch.
Having said all that, I just started playing this though I've had the game installed for quite some time. It seems quite a few other DMH are getting into Warframe...

Re: Warframe
I'm rather proud of the lack of trolling and flaming that goes on here
Longshot, what's your Warframe name? I'll add you.
I played with AgentofChange and TedWJ last week, though often play with Complex Lain, Marv Swarve, and Lizzy in the mornings before work.
Update on my frame: lvl 25 Loki, most frame abilities maxed, hoping to snag some more Flow mods and waiting for even a single Streamline to drop.
Picked up a Boar Shotgun, Lex pistol, and Dual Heat Swords; Invisibility + Dual Heat Sword charge attack = up to three mobs hit for more than 500 damage each

Re: Warframe
I'm going to try to get into Warframe soon. If I do, what do you guys think is the best frame for my playstyle?
In MMO's (Like Rift), I tend to be drawn to the high DPS Mages, where I have high damage at long range, with the option of fighting close up.
In Rift, I have a tanking summon with an aggro draw ability, I can use a pretty good knockback move, and I have a stupidly OP AOE move. My style is to start the attack, which automatically sends my summon at the enemy, where he uses his aggro draw move. As the enemy is preoccupied with my summon, I spam long range attacks, like my AOE and what amounts to a lightning strike. When my summon is finally killed, and the enemy goes after me, I keep him at a distance using my knockback, all the while sending my attacks at him.
I have a video on youtube, where I actually solo'd a high-level enemy, where I started with about 70% health. If you guys would care to watch, It gives a pretty good indication of my playstyle.

Re: Warframe
From your description, I'd suggest a Mag out of the three starter frames; caster with some high-damage & utility abilities (others are Excalibur = fighter, and Loki = rogue).
All frames have a primary rifle or shotgun with pistol and melee and all frames can use all weapons. Your starter melee gives an AoE knockdown on a jumping attack, so use that to your advantage; knocking down a few enemies at once will buy you enough time to kill a few and recharge shields.
Other than that, there's a lot of starter guides all over, including videos.
Here's a crash course featuring the Mag frame.

Re: Warframe
I just checked that vid, Loki, and I think that the frame will fit my style quite nicely.
Thank you.

Re: Warframe
I'll add you to my contacts next time I'm on.
Depending on the time you play at, you'll find a different crew;
AgentofChange and some DMH guys play in the evening.
I play with Marv Swarve and Complex Lain around 6:30-7:30am during weekdays, with Anger occasionally showing up.

Re: Warframe
somehow that isn't surprising. some already play it with a gamepad...
well, at least no one on PC will be forced to interact with PS4 players (lately i really, really hate the attitudes of some anti-pc/pro-console 'gamers') thanks to invite-only games.

Re: Warframe
True enough. Though I've noticed a similar trend from some PC-elitists who think the same thing about the consolers, who are barely a step above the 'casuals'...
Re: Warframe
well yeah... i hold that there are some games that work better on PC than console (most FPS games, anything that requires precise aiming or numerous controls / gameplay mechanics, RTS, MMO, etc...) just like there are some games that work better on console than PC (eg, many platformer games, racing games, movie-themed games).
what pisses me off in these arguments the most is the COD crowd, the jock-gamer cesspool in general. if casual gamers are the average populace, these are the people that would argue their superior lifestyle hubris into every disagreement - 12 year old children are a slight improvement on this group lol... but i hear them complaining from both ends on the pc/console debate, often with ill-informed arguments i would expect from someone trying to defending the iphone as a totally new invention (cough, apple newton, cough).

Re: Warframe
Dojo glitched. I was able to enter the unfinished Bio Lab while someone accessed the contribute resources menu. I was able to leave and re-enter, access the command console (which brought me to the contribute menu), and access the research panel. Was not able to actually start any research, though; said "Requirements not met."
