maybe at least that would make them insanely expensive or slower/heavy enough to outmaneuver them
ok i get it, we are never going to have good old dogfights like in WW1 and WW2 in real life again:(

Maybe there will be a moon base with an entertainment park, with a big hall, where you can fly in mini-airplanes due to low gravity, and dogfight using paintball guns. (it would also be possible to fly by strapping wings down your arms and waving them.)
I think with such a park you'd become rich, but first we need space elevators for efficient transport.

You'd be more likely to become rich owning a credit default swap on the company trying to build the space elevator

were is the fun if nobody dies?
dogfights today have to be the most boring thing on war, its all about looking at your radar *beep beep a dot just appeared, fire a missile no more *beep beep, congratulations you won!
no more face to face fighting, no more looking at your rival through the glass while you theateningly raise your fist at them:(

The main obstacle will be all of the the space garbage in the earth orbit which could crash into the elevator cable. first we have to clean our orbit.longshot wrote:You'd be more likely to become rich owning a credit default swap on the company trying to build the space elevator

This makes me wish I could join you; my desktop is packed up for the move and all I've got is my overheating work laptop

Re-encode it and stuff it all on youtube anyway. :D

Re: do you still play?
seems dull - 15 minutes of silent explosions at a time... been trying to find music to put as the background. to that end, i can re-encode them to single-files (currently each is split to about 150 seconds per file) and hand it over to anyone who wants to add music themselves perhaps?
edit - well, at the least ill splice the footage together with a silent track (youtube doesn't like video files without an audio track on them) and start uploading the 9 or so games i have recorded. have all long weekend to do it for that matter, any preference for which ones to upload first?

Re: do you still play?
That game with 30 NH kills... Just remembered that it has front row view to a beam kill at 1900m :p I'll make a quick gif of it once im home while the video uploads...
edit:
animation is up... http://genesis.trinon.info/mbvids/long-range-beam.gif
ive slowed it down to 15 fps, so 25% game speed.
note - 23MB - high res

Re: do you still play?
I want to play MB again so much. Sadly I'm getting horrible lag from it. I don't know why.

Tonight's(this morning's?) matches went as high as 4v4, not counting the random single serving twinkies that pop in here and there.
If only we could get Abstractness and Jack in on this. v:

You frequent the Euro Servers? I think they moved the server awhile ago and the quality on it has only gotten worse, at least that's what I understand.
Also, Happy to see you back Commander Sparkle.

Current news item; naval laser turret demo.
Re: do you still play?
with the current north korean situation it doesn't surprise me that the navy is deploying their top quality toys when it comes to missile or aircraft interception, also 1$ to fire that thing im impressed

Re: do you still play?
1$ to fire, provided you've got a $20 million dollar laser turret mounted on a nuclear-powered battleship
Re: do you still play?
when you put it as '20 million as an investment, $1 maintenance' i think that is rather appealing considering it is intended to protect other things (ie, other military hardware)
